The District's Board of
Directors met last night and determined that it is in everyone's
best interest to not seek continued authorization for the Stevens
project at this time. There are a number of reasons for this
decisionl as we discussed yesterday. This project remains at the
forefront of our water projects and now includes piping of the
Dutton Ditch which supplies raw water to Stevens Reservoir. We are
in the process of making application for a 404 permit with the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers. Estimated costs for both projects are $6.2
million.

We .hope that you will keep us in mind and should the District seek
financial assistance from the CWCB in future years, we look forward
to working with you.

Thank you for your time and assistance in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Ca/~S; C(Jt~phfl(

Carrie S.
