<br />b. South Platte - The Chair requested grant applications for the January 2007 meeting; the <br />environmental representative requested a needs assessment for the South Platte. <br /> <br />c. Denver Metro: Adopted a motion to accept the SWSI Gap; is moving forward on a study <br />of the six pumpback alternatives on the Colorado River. <br /> <br />6. CWCB Report - John Redifer <br /> <br />a. The CWCB is awaiting grant recommendations. He discussed that the problem with <br />doing an energy needs assessment for additional water is that the energy industry itself <br />does not know how much water will be required for oil shale development. <br /> <br />7. CDM Report: Sue Morea. <br /> <br />a. CDM is preparing a spreadsheet with all needs assessment requests from all roundtables <br />so that they can be consolidated. <br /> <br />b. She anticipates that the $600,000 HB 1400 money, which funds CDM's needs <br />assessment, will be available in future years. The CBRT can expect that $60,000 will be <br />available for a needs assessment of the Colorado River. <br /> <br />c. CDM's contract with CWCB to prepare the needs assessment will likely be signed by <br />12/1/06. <br /> <br />d. The CWCB will determine the statewide SB 179 funding awards ($5.5 million total) for <br />the year ending 6/30/2007 (the first year ofthe 4-year grant cycle) on March 12,2007. <br /> <br />8. Non Consumptive Needs Assessment. <br /> <br />a. Lane Wyatt presented a motion, seconded by Ken Neubecker, that CDM develop the <br />scope and costs of a study non-consumptive needs assessment, to be discussed by the <br />CBRT at the December 18 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. There was <br />discussion that CDM should also prepare the scope and cost of a consumptive needs <br />assessment. <br /> <br />9. Palisade Whitewater Park $100,000 SB 179 Grant Request. <br /> <br />a. Greg Trainor, CBRT member representing Mesa County, Tim Sarmo, Palisade Town <br />Manager, and Pete Atkinson, Western Association to Enjoy Rivers (W A TER) requested <br />the CBRT approve a $100,000 grant request toward the $1.4 million whitewater park to <br />be built when the Price Stubbs Roller Dam is removed from the Colorado River just <br />upstream from Palisade. All but $135,000 of these funds have been raised. <br /> <br />b. The Endangered Fish Recovery Program, discussed below, prompted the Bureau of <br />Reclamation's decision to remove the roller dam and to replace it with a fish ladder. <br /> <br />c.
