Louis Meyer made a motion that was seconded and approved to discuss the topic of <br />determining the baseline data for minimum stream flow needs in the Colorado River <br />basin, for discussion at the May, 2006 meeting. <br /> <br />May 22, 2006 <br /> <br />1. Colorado Basin Roundtable decided that quarterly meetings with other Roundtables was <br />a good idea. <br /> <br />2. Presentation by Gary Severson, Executive Director of Northwest Colorado Council of <br />Governments, on demographic trends in the Upper Colorado Basin. <br /> <br />3. Colorado Department of Natural Resources Handbook, Water Supply and Needs Report <br />for Colorado Basin, was handed out. <br /> <br />June 26, 2006 <br /> <br />1. Russell George, Director of Colorado Depattment of Natural Resources, presented a <br />discussion on the $10 million/year IBCC grant requests ($40 million total). <br /> <br />2. Don Carlson of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern), discussed <br />Northern's plan to take over the Bureau of Reclamation's operations and maintenance of <br />the Colorado Big Thompson project, except for operations at the Green Mountain <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />3. Jim Pearce of the Colorado River Water Conservation District made a presentation on the <br />Green Mountain Reservoir pumpback. <br /> <br />4. A motion was made to request the Colorado congressional delegation to ensure that the <br />Grand Junction office of the Bureau of Reclamation maintain oversight of the Green <br />Mountain Reservoir operations and maintenance. <br /> <br />July 24, 2006 <br /> <br />1. Bill Bates, Denver Water Board, discussed the Shoshone power plant agreement between <br />the City of Denver and Public Service Company (Xcel) in which Denver purchased up to <br />71,214 acre feet per year in years that its projected reservoir storage capacity is less than <br />80%. <br /> <br />2. Bob Smith, news anchor for KKCT television station in Grand Junction, made a <br />presentation to promote Grand Valley Lake, a proposed 195,000 acre foot reservoir on <br />Orchard Mesa. <br /> <br />3.
