The total required flow rate to irrigate 2,310 acres within a
12-hour watering window is approximately 32,000 GPM during peak season.

Pressurized Transmission System Concel;!!

A pressurized irrigation transmission system is proposed to provide irrigation water "on-
demand" throughout the Lake Canal Company service area. As the service area
develops and builds out, landscape irrigation water will be needed throughout the area.
A network of raw water storage reservoirs, pump stations and pipelines is
conceptualized to provide the water required for the service area.

Three storage reservoirs and three pump stations are proposed to service the landscape
demands. Currently, two storage reservoirs exist within the Lake Canal conveyance
system: Timnath Reservoir and Lake Canal Reservoir #1. Two new reservoirs are
proposed: one on the north end of the service area and one adjacent to Timnath
Reservoir to assist in treating poor water quality at this location. The new reservoirs and
pump stations have been preliminarily sized based on the water requirements presented
above. A pipeline network was developed to cover all areas of service.

As future irrigated areas develop, a point-of-connection (abbreviated POC) will be made
on the Lake Canal Company transmission pipe system. From this point-of-connection,
the developer will design and install, to Lake Canal specifications, a distribution system
to provide irrigation water to all desired areas (parks, open spaces, streetscapes,
schools, and residential lots).

Aqua Engineering, Inc.
June 7, 2004

Canal Modernization Feasibility Study
- 11 -
