Intrastate Water Management & Development Section - Water Supply Reserve Account <br />Applications for Grants <br />Tape 2, Track 2 00:42:01 - 01:24:44 <br />Action: A motion was made by Harold Miskel and seconded by Eric Wilkinson to <br />approve a Statewide Grant Request Application in an amount up to $200,000 <br />from the Water Supply Reserve Account to Southeastern Colorado Water <br />Activity Enterprise in the Arkansas River Basin for the Arkansas Valley Conduit <br />Project to assist in the funding of a required local match to a Federal Grant <br />administered through the Environmental Protection Agency (EP A). The conduit <br />is designed to bring a higher quality source of drinking water to communities east <br />of Pueblo. Funding will be contingent upon resolution of the items in the <br />issues/additional needs section of the application. The motion was approved <br />unanimously (8-0). <br /> <br />Tape 2, Track 2 01:24:44 - 01:34:50 <br />Action: A motion was made by Harold Miskel and seconded by John Redifer to approve <br />a Statewide Grant Request Application in an amount up to $50,000 from the <br />Water Supply Reserve Account to Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy <br />District in the Upper Arkansas River Basin and tributaries for the Long-Term <br />Management of Non-Native Phreatophyte Trees and Mapping Project for the <br />Arkansas Basin. The Project is designed to complete the mapping of the Basin to <br />inventory the infestation level of the invasive species, to assist in the <br />development of a Strategic Plan for the long-term management of the invasive <br />species, and to create a plan to reduce serious impacts upon limited water <br />resources in order to help increase water availability to meet municipal, <br />agricultural, environmental and recreational needs. Funding will be contingent <br />upon resolution of the items in the issues/additional needs section ofthe <br />application. Harris Sherman was not present for this agenda item.
