SILTATION SURVEY VEHICLE <br />SILTATION SURVEY VEHICLE <br />A pontoon boat such as this <br />would be fitted with a work <br />opening in the center of the <br />deck thru which sediment <br />cores could be taken. <br />The cores would be obtained <br />by forcing lengths plastic pipe <br />down into the sediment until a <br />predetermined depth limit was <br />reached. <br />The cores would be marked <br />with the GPS location, date, <br />and elevation and returned to <br />shore for evaluation. <br />This technique should provide <br />adequate data for a siltation <br />evaluation of the irrigation <br />reservoirs on the South Platte. <br />
