<br />A feasibility study for the project was submitted in October 1992 by Camp Dresser & Mckee of <br />Denver. In April 1996, the present Construction Fund staff reviewed the report and requested <br />that the District update the study prior to entering into a contract for the construction loan. The <br />District indicated that there might be new project features and a request for additional funding. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />In response to the staffs request for an updated feasibility study, the District has submitted a <br />Plan of Study by Davis Engineering Service of Del Norte. The cost of the study is not expected <br />to exceed $10,000. Staff has reviewed the Plan of Study and finds that it meets the requirements <br />of the Construction Fund Guidelines and responds to the staff comments on the 1992 report. <br /> <br />The District is requesting a grant of$5,000 to assist in the cost of the feasibility study update. At <br />the same time, the District is relinquishing a $5,000 Small Dam Site grant for another project that <br />.' has been postponed for several years. Please see the attached letter from Carrie Campbell, the <br />District Manager. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Board approve a grant of $5,000 (or fifty percent of the cost of the <br />study, whichever is less) from the Small Dam Site Account of the Construction Fund to the <br />Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District for a feasibility study of the Stevens Lake <br />enlargement project.
