Brief history of the sponsoring entity: The area is made up of the towns of
Evanston, Frederick and Firestone and was once a coal mining center
surrounded by rural farmland. Today the area is developing and growing
rapidly. The residents are a mixture of retired miners, farmers, migrant
farm workers and young families. The District was formed to be a
proactive voice in maintaining and planning new storm water collection and
conveyance systems and sanitary sewer collection, conveyance and
treatment systems.
G. Current financial condition:
Please refer to the letter and audit reports within Appendix 3. The District
is an Enterprise as a whole. The District has broken out a separate fund for
revenue generated for storm water improvements. This fund is known as
the storm water enterprise fund and it began in 1999. When the audit
report is available for 1999, the report will have this new fund broken out
within the report.
H.
