...

UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE

NATURAL RESOURCES
CONSERVATION
SERVICE

325 W. Rainbow
Salida, Colorado
(719) 539-7331

Riverside Ditch - Allen Extension

5-16-02

Information for two possible projects for ditch improvement.

The Frenchman Creek crossing will include: approximately 20
L.F. of *30 inch or *36 inch diameter 80 psi PVC pipe.

2 - 11% degree elbows (100 psi)

2 - Formed and reinforced concrete structures (Inlet and
Outlet) or they could be constructed using ~ inch steel
plate.

Bedding material might be required, depending on local soil
conditions.

*The pipe diameter will be determined by the amount of water
that needs to be delivered through the siphon. 30 inch
diameter pipe would flow 17.10 cfs and a 36 inch diameter
pipe would flow 24.78 cfs.

**Ditch users and contractors must understand that this
information is for estimating purposes only. The Natural
Resources Conservation Service would provide more detail
plans if the project is installed.
