WOODCHUCK DITCH COMPANY
WOODCHUCK DITCH RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Reinforced foundation support for 30" Plastic Pipe along Reconstructed Ditch Lateral

Proiect Descriotion

In 1997 a significant landslide removed approximately 250-ft. of the Woodchuck Ditch.
Since that time the Ditch Company has spent significant time and money in temporary repairs to
keep the ditch operational. In 1999 the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS),
Steamboat Springs Office, designed a permanent solution to the problem to restore the natural side
slope of the slide area. This $110,000 project included the placement of 400-ft. of 30-inch
diameter heavy wall plastic pipe secured with %-inch wire rope anchored into bedrock. The
Contractor, Percision Construction, commenced construction in September of 2000 and
completed the work in November of 2000. Final project accounting and administration was
completed in April of 200 I.

Project Data

Sponsor: Woodchuck Ditch Company County: Routt Water Source: Soda/Gunn Creek

Terms of Loan: $30,000@3.75% for 20-years Substantial Completion Date: May 1,2001

Design Engineer: Natural Resources Conservation Service - Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Construction Contractor: Percision Construction, Inc. - Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Design Criteria: 400-ft. of30-inch, SDR-26, Heavy Wall Plastic Pipe

Annual Volume of Water Delivered by the Project: 1,250 acre-ft.
