Please see the attached <br />project summary and map . <br /> <br />Back2round <br /> <br />The purpose of the proposed regional detention pond project is to reduce the peak historic <br />flows in the main drainageway downstream of the pond and thereby reduce the extent of <br />flooding in the towns of Firestone and Frederick and the unincorporated community of <br />Evanston. The three communities have experienced severe flooding problems over the <br />years due to stormwater runoff from the surrounding area. <br /> <br />The total cost of the project is estimated at about $2.0 million. The District intends to <br />undertake and complete construction in 2001. <br /> <br />This project was presented at the January 26, 2000 Board meeting and the Board <br />recommended a Severance Tax Trust Fund loan of $730,000 to the WCT ASD for the <br />proposed project with certain conditions (January Agenda Item No. 10 c.). The loan was <br />approved for a term of 30 years at 5.00 percent. <br />
