<br />THE MODEL RESERVOIR AND LAND COMPANY <br />BLACK HILLS DAM REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> <br /> <br />Black Hills Dam 48-inch RCP Outlet Pipe Releasing Irrigation Water <br /> <br />Proiect Description <br /> <br />In May of 1999 a flood event originating in the local basin overtopped Model Reservoir's <br />existing outlet conduit, damaging the outlet gate tower, the dam embankment, and causing <br />downstream property damage. The emergency improvements, designed by URS Greiner, of <br />Denver, Colorado, consisted of constructing a new outlet tower and conduit, repairing the dam <br />embankment, placing grouted rip rap in the outlet works stilling basin, the construction of a cast-in- <br />place concrete parapet wall, and the installation of water level and discharge recording devices. <br />The total cost of the project = $780,000. <br /> <br />Proiect Data <br /> <br />Sponsor: The Model Reservoir Co.
