<br />. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Determination of Lake Mead Operation during the Interim Period <br /> <br />A. Normal and Shortage Condit ions <br /> <br />I. Lake Mead at or below elevation 1125 ft. <br /> <br />In years when available Lake Mead storage is projected to be at or bebw elevation <br />1125 ft. on January I, the Secretary shall determine a Nomlal or Shortage year. <br /> <br />B. Surplus Conditions <br /> <br />I. Partial Domestic Surplus <br />(Lake Mead between elevation 1125 ft. and 1145 ft.) <br /> <br />In years when Lake Mead storage is projected to be between elevation 1125 ft. and <br />elevation I I 45 ft. on January I, the Secretary shall determine a Partial Domestic <br />Surplus. The amount of such Surplus shall equal: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />For Direct Delivery Domestic Use by MWD, 1.212 mafreduced by. I.) <br />the amount of basic apportionment available to MWD and 2.) the <br />amount of its domestic demand which MWD offsets in such year by <br />offstream groundwater withdrawals or other options. The amount <br />offset under 2.) shall not be less than 400,000 af in 2002 and w ill be <br />reduced by 20,000 aflyr over the Interim period so as to equal 100,000 <br />afin 20 16. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />b. For llse by SNW A, one half of the Direct Delivery Domestic Use within <br />the SNWA service area in excess of the State of Nevada's basic <br />apportionmen t. <br /> <br />c. For Arizona, one halfof the Direct Delivery Domestic Use in excess of <br />the State of Arizona's basic apportionment. <br /> <br />2. FuJI Domestic Surplus <br />(Lake Mead above Elcvationl145 ft. and below 70R Strategy) <br /> <br />In years when Lake Mead content is projected to be above elevation 1145 ft., but less <br />than the anlount which would initiate a Surplus under B.3. 70R Strategy or B.4.
