--
I '

I
I
I
I (
1'-

Upper Gunnison
Augmentation Plans

~The UGRWCD has one decreed plan of augmentation for
the Upper Gunnison Basin and has filed for a second.
~ Their decreed plan includes Meridian Lak:e as a source of
replacement water in the Crested Butte area.
~The purpose of this plan is to allow continued out-of-
priority depletions during calls by either a CWCB instream
flow or by local irrigators on the Slate or lower East River, as
well as an RICD call on the Gunnison.
~Meridian Lake has only a 50 acre-foot firm annual yield;
contract water is relatively expensive and water is being sold
in 0.05 acre-foot base units.
~UGRWCD has renewed their SWSP for the Aspinall
Augmentation Plan; the decree should be issued in 2006.
