Zone B:

Areas between the Special Flood Hazard
Areas and the limits of the SOO-year
flood, including areas of the SOO-year
flood plain that are protected from the
lOa-year flood by dike, levee, or other
water control structure; also areas
subject to certain types of IOO-year
shallow flooding where depths are less
than 1.0 foot; and areas subject to
IOO-year flooding from sources with
drainage areas less than I square mile.
Zone B is not subdivided.

Zone c:

Areas of minimal flooding.

The flood elevation differences, Flood Hazard Factors, flood insur-
ance zones, and base flood elevations for each flooding source
studied in detail in the community are summarized in Table 3.

5.4 Flood Insurance Rate Map Description

The Flood Insurance Rate Map for the Town of Dacono is, for insurance
purposes, the principal result of the Flood Insurance Study. This
map contains the official delineation of flood insurance zones and
base flood elevation -lines. Base flood elevation lines show the
locations of the expected whole-foot water-surface elevations of
the base (lOa-year) flood. This map is developed in accordance
with the latest flood insurance map preparation guidelines published
by the Federal Insurance Administration.

6.0 OTHER STUDIES

No other flood plain delineation studies have been made for the Town of
Dacano, but two drainage studies have been completed in the area. A
drainage study was done for the Glens of Dacono, a trailer park located
in the eastern half of Dacono (Reference 9). Discharges in this Flood
Insurance Study are consistent with those published in the drainage report.
The other study (Reference 10) was completed for the county, and the values
in that report are also consistent with those used in this Flood Insurance
Study.

This study is authoritative for the purposes of the National Flood Insur-
ance Program; data presented herein e~ther supersede or are compatible
with all previous determinations.

10
