<br /> <br />8-2 <br /> <br /> <br />At Hoover Dam, the largest flood occurs in August, when a Pine and <br />Cedar Mountains storm lags seven days after the San Juan Mountains <br />storm. This probable maximum flood at the dam has a peak inflow of <br />1,130,000 ft3/s and 60-day volume of 9.3 million acre-feet. When <br />this flood is routed through Lake Mead, the maximum reservoir <br />elevation reaches 1,233.0 feet, still 3 feet below the top of the <br />parapet. <br />
