September 15, 2004

Lower Arkansas River Basin
District 14
Diversion Structure Inventory

6 Comanche Pump Station

Narrative of Structure Components and Repair Plan

The Comanche Pump Station structure is located approximately 150 feet south of the
river, and a locked chain-link fence surrounds the pump station site. There is no
structure on or across the river at this location. The intake to the pump station appears
to be approximately 4-feet-wide, over which is a galvanized steel trash rack. The
structure's headwall is concrete with steel sheetpile on either side, that is keyed into the
banks of the ditch. At the fence that surrounds the site, there is a galvanized steel
debris guard that spans the ditch. Located along the south bank of the river are two
large-debris deflectors, consisting of timber piling and steel piling filled with concrete.
The south bank of the river appears to be adequately armored with broken concrete
rubble, upstream and downstream of the ditch to the pump station.

No access was granted to evaluate the entire structure. The condition of the visible
portion is good, and no needed repairs were noted.

Farnsworth Group
