September 15, 2004

Lower Arkansas River Basin
District 14
Diversion Structure Inventory

5 Hamp-Bell Ditch

Narrative of Structure Components and Repair Plan

Approximately 1,200 feet downstream of the Pueblo Reservoir Dam, there is a dam that
spans the river. The dam consists of a series of placed boulders, and appears to be
designed to help divert flow to the West Pueblo Ditch.

The Hamp-Bell diversion structure is approximately 150 upstream of the boulder dam,
along the south bank of the river. It consists of a concrete headwall constructed
between two natural rock formations, with a 3-foot-wide steel vertical lift headgate.

The structure and ditch appear to be abandoned. Therefore, a summary of
recommended repairs was not prepared and a range of cost for the repairs was not
estimated.

Farnsworth Group
