High Flow in River
Poor DYes LC:,J

Repair(s) Needed: The feeder ditch has trouble getting water to the headgate during low flows,
improvements to the main channel diversion dam are needed.

Upstream Configuration: There is a short feeder ditch that directs water from the river to the
headgate. There is not a true diversion dam downstream, but an existing fence spanning the river
tends to collect debris and act as a makeshift diversion. The feeder channel is located on the south
bank of the south branch of the Conejos River.

Comments: The headwall structure is constructed of rock and overall appears to be in fair condition.
From the piles of debris surrounding the structure, it could be concluded that a trash rack device
would be beneficial. The Overflow Ditch is a priority 20. Flow is measured by a 4' Parshall flume.

Estimated Range of Cost: Low

F :\Projects \20060507\Documents \Reports \Conejos \1 nventory Forms \Overflow Ditch .doc

OA No. 2-2006-0507
