The Town is in the
process of obtaining a 40 acre site whiChl will be used for a proposed 1,000 acre-foot water supply
reservoir. The reservoir will provide morel than 100 days of water during a drought of the magnitude
which was seen in 2002. In addition to this application the Town will be applying to the Gunnison
Roundtable and the Colorado River Distridt.
I
I
Recommendation: Staff gives a low recommendation for the funding of this study because the
I
project does not fit the grant program schepule and product delivery requirements. The applicant was
not aware of the timeframe that the grant :funds would be made available. In addition, the applicant
has indicated they will apply for other state and local grants, which we feel are more suited for this
type of project. .

2. It is used to update corporate by-laws, change operating procedures, .and plan and
implement needed infrastructure improverrlents that will ultimately lead to more efficient use of the
limited water supply. I

Recommendation: Staff gives a mediu~ recommendation for the funding of this project because
other funding has become available at this t,ime.

Stream and Lake Protection Program

1.
