I

The Board will note that the applications rJquire additional information and clarification. This is a
new program and the tight timefTames reqJired rapid action by the Basin Roundtables. Staff wishes
to express its appreciation to the Roundtabies and Roundtable chairs for all their work in this first
grant submittal and review process. .

In the future staffwill continue to work with the Roundtables to refine the process. Of particular
importance is the Roundtables review ofth~ Eligibility and Threshold Criteria and helping ensure
that the applications are complete based onlthe information required in the Criteria and Guidelines.
It is important that applicants directly address these factors to enable clear understanding and review
I
by the Roundtables and eWCR

Staff Recommendation

I
Staffs recommendations are contained with:in each Water Activity Summary Sheet. During this
funding cycle there were sufficient funds tQ fund all requests. Staff has recommended conditional
approval of all applications. Consequently~ staff did not have to perform a detailed comparison of
how well each application met the evaluatiQn criteria in relation to one another. In the future a more
detailed description may be needed.

Staffwill also asked the Board's approval tp make minor revisions to the application to clarify
needed information, to simplify formatting, and to emphasize that costs incurred prior to award and
contracting with the State are not eligible fdr reimbursement.

.

.
