<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />/(P <br /> <br />CWCB RESOLUTION 2007-2 <br />In Reeosmition of Dan Merriman's Contributions <br />to the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the <br />Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Pro1mlDl <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan Merriman worked for the Colorado Water Conservation Board for over 30 years and <br />was involved with various water-related environmental and natural resource issues ranging from <br />floodplain analysis and delineation, to wild and scenic river studies, instream flow protection, wilderness <br />designation and federal reserved water right issues; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan retired from his position with the Colorado Water Conservation Board on February 28, <br />2007; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan managed the In:sM:iun Flow and Natural Lake Level Program ("lSF Programj for over <br />25 years, working with the Division of Wildlife, the Attorney Geneml's Office and the Board to secure <br />many of the Board's early instream flow and natural lake level appropriations and playing a major part in <br />securing some of the Board's early water acquisitions on Boulder Creek (G. Berkeley Ditch), Hunter <br />Creek (USFS and City of Aspen), and Fish Creek near Steamboat Springs; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan was extensively involved in developing the Board's roles and policies governing the <br />ISF Program from the beginning of the program until his retirement; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan devoted numerous hours to educating various stakeholders about the ISF Program and <br />developing positive working relationships with those stakeholders, including federal agencies, local <br />governments, conservation groups and other special interest groups; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dan's tireless efforts on behalf of the Board, the ISF Program and the people of our state <br />have had a significant positive impact on the ISF Program and related water issues. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED on March 12,2007, that the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board reco~i7.es and appreciates the outstanding work and numerous accomplishments of Dan <br />Merriman during his years with the CWCB. <br /> <br />TIavis Smi~ Chair <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich, Director <br />
