Thus far, newspapers (58 %) have been the primary source of information regarding the
proposed project, followed by friends and relatives (33%), television (27%), the Division
of Wildlife (18%), radio (11 %), and public meetings (6%).

. Warmwater anglers from Colorado's Mesa, Montrose, Delta, and Garfield counties
oppose efforts to recover endangered fish by removing warmwater sportfish from ponds
adjacent to the river. Anglers oppose such efforts by a 55 % to 32 % margin.

. Interestingly, those who reported to have heard "a lot" (19%) about the proposed project
are more opposed to recovery efforts (75% oppose) than those who are less informed
(roughly 50% oppose).

. Warmwater anglers 35 years of age and older are opposed to recovery efforts by more
than a 2-to-1 margin (61 %-26%), while those under 35 years of age are split, 44% in
favor of recovery efforts and 44 % opposed.

. If the proposed projects move forward, anglers most prefer an option to have the targeted
ponds and reservoirs restocked only with bass, crappie and bluegill (75% support this
option). Less popular options include restocking with only trout at certain times of the
year (52% support), or leaving the warmwaters vacant altogether (8% support).

1.1.
