<br />000527 <br /> <br />ponds (Figure 7). <br /> <br />Warmwater Angler Satisfaction <br /> <br />The final two questions in the angler profile portion of the survey queried anglers as <br />to their level of satisfaction with the warmwater fishing opportunities that are <br />available in their area, and whether or not having such opportunities within an hour's <br />drive of their home was important to them. <br /> <br />Anglers were asked to describe their satisfaction with local warmwater fishing <br />opportunities on a scale that ranged from "very satisfied" to "very dissatisfied". 63% <br />of respondents said they were very to somewhat satisfied with local opportunities, <br />while 36 % were somewhat to very dissatisfied with local opportunities (Figure 8). <br /> <br />General sportfishing program guidance has been to have a level of satisfied anglers <br />that exceeds 75 %. Therefore in terms of westslope warmwater anglers, an <br />interpretation of this information could be that warmwater fishing opportunities are <br />not currently filling the demand of the anglers from the satisfaction perspective. <br /> <br />Importance of Having Close-by Fishing <br /> <br />When asked if it was important or not important to having warmwater fishing <br />opportunities close to home-defined as an hour's drive-92% of anglers indicate that <br />it is somewhat to very important to have warmwater fishing opportunities close to <br />where they live.
