The groups also identified resources, tools, information and partnerships that could facilitate a broad-based native aquatic species management program, but which currently are lacking or under-used in Colorado. Finally, the working groups began the difficult process of identifying actions to achieve the eight components of a future management scheme. Next Steps The workshop was attended by several members of the Colorado Water Conservation Board, the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission, and the Colorado Wildlife Commission, as ,- well as senior management from the Departments of Natural Resources and Public Health - and Environment. These state officials found the workshop very helpful in initiating public ~ dialogue on this important and complex issue. The Departments, Commissions, and Board p are moving forward to focus on the question of how best to address the needs of declining specIes.
