This Summary was
compiled by the staff at the Colorado Department of Natural Resources.

The workshop focused on the apparent decline of many of Colorado's native aquatic
wildlife species, the possible consequences of this decline, and what might be done to reverse
this trend. The Summary is intended to provide workshop participants and others interested
in Colorado's native aquatic wildlife with a snapshot of the ideas and issues identified at the
workshop.

Colorado's water and wildlife resources are unique and ,valuable. Many Coloradans
have expressed a concern that we address the needs of declining native species innovatively
by relying on constructive, collaborative partnerships between land owners, water users,
academic institutions, conservation organizations and government. The. public workshop and
this Summary are intended to engage interested Coloradans in a dialogue about the status of
Colorado's native aquatiC wildlife and to help establish creative management partnerships.

Please take time to review this Summary, and consider how you may want to
participate in future efforts to manage Colorado's aquatic resources.

Board of Land Commissioners' Division of Minerals & Geology/Geological Survey
Oil & Gas Conservation Commission' Colorado State Parks' Soil Conservation Board
Water Conservation Board' Division of Water Resources.
