We wOllld ask the Rio Grande :8asin ROllndtable to <br />consider this application. The Monte Vista Historical Society is exenlpt froll1 Federal <br />InC0111e Tax under section 50l(c) (3) of the Il1ternal Revenue Code. The EIN # is 74- <br />2617945. <br /> <br />The Monte Vista Historical Society will enter into a C011tract with CWCB to carry out the <br />requiren1ents of the grant. The Conl111ittee for" 1 GOY ears of San Luis Valley <br />IZeservoirs" Celebration will aSS'Ull1e all respo11sibilities of execllting all of the provisions <br />reqllired to flllfill the contract. <br /> <br />The enclosed application will spell out the goals that the COl111nittee plans to achieve, the <br />111eans by whicI1 these goals are to be achieved, and how this Celebration will help to <br />reach S0111C of the objectives set out in SWSI, and in Colorado Revised Statllte 37-75-104 <br />Section II (C & D), and Colorado Revised Statllte 37-75-106 and Colorado Revised <br />Statute 39 ~ 29 - 109 Section I (D). It also n1eets the glliding principle of HOllse Joint <br />Resolution 03-1019 Part 10. <br /> <br />Education of people in the San Luis Valley, other Colorado citizens, and the wider :Rio <br />Grande Basin forIn the basic lllotivation for this Celebration. An infornled public will <br />nlake far better decisions for present water sitllations and for those of the future. <br /> <br />The Celebration, as outlined within the al)plication, is designed to educate on several <br />levels.
