Based on this chart,
water consumption seems to be increasing in Durango by about 6 gallons per capita per day.

Per Ca ita Water Consum
Year Florida Total to
Diversions Reservoir
1990 1,248 m 1,313 m
1991 1,227 m 1,282 m
1992 1,252 m 1,286m
1993 1,274 m 1,393 m
1994 1,290 m 1,439 m
1995 1,325 m 1,484 m
1996 1,309 m 1,512 m
1997 1,388 m 1,551 m
A vera e 1,289 m 1,408 m

Of the total water consumption on an annual basis, 65% is indoor use and 35% is outdoor use. Indoor water
use was determined from water use records during December and lanuary. During peak days in the summer,
total treated water consumption is approximately 520 gpcd. The total annual average treated water demand
based on a consumption of200 gpcd for the current population of approximately 18,000 is 4,033 acre-feet.
Assuming a water use of200 gpcd, unconstrained demand projections for future populations of 25,000,
30,000 and 40,000 are shown below.

Unconstrained Water Demands - Average Year

Per Ca ita Use
Annual Treated Water Demand
A v .
