Times-Cali/Richard M. <br />Hackett <br /> <br />Erie is one of a number of cities and towns in Boulder County that have partnered with the <br />center to pay for the audits to help conserve water. <br /> <br />Longmont, Boulder and Lafayette are also participating in the irrigation audit program, <br />which is in its second year. <br /> <br />k3 <br /> <br />-..fl. <br />".....~ <br />~ <br />~':~.~~J <br />I. ." <br />\ '. <br /> <br />La <br />~ <br /> <br />,1 D <br />~ . <br />'1 <br />. ~ Ate. <br />l n <br />. <br />~. <br />~--'......... <br /> <br />Ten auditors visit homes and businesses to conduct visual assessments and tests of sprinkler <br />systems to "see how efficient (they are) and make recommendations for improvements," <br />said Kara Csibrik, program manager for the center. <br /> <br />According to Csibrik, the agency perfonned 500 audits last year. <br /> <br />This year, it expects to conduct 1',400. <br /> <br />Audits take one to two hours, Scott said, depending on the size of the lawn. <br /> <br />Stimac ripped out the lawn in her back yard several years ago and replaced it with bark and <br />rock xeriscaping, so the audit at her home took an hour.
