The Center for the American West - with whom Douglas County is having <br />water conservation public education dialogue - is looking for ways to support <br />education in schools, and on water efforts. These discussions are ongoing. <br /> <br />Action Item: <br />. Create a Douglas County Master Gardeners advicelhot line <br />. This effort will begin after January 24tt\ and completed by early March. <br /> <br />4. Munlcioal Government Affairs <br />. Town websites, newsletters, utility mailings, Rec. Center catalogs <br />. Encourage classes to be taught as part of Rae. Center programs <br />Action Items: <br />. Identify locations of or locations for Xeriscape demonstration projects <br />. This effort will begin after January 24th and hopefully will be an ongoing effort <br />in the community for years to come. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />5. Collateral Deslan <br />. DVD Packaging <br />. Posters <br />. Countertop promotional displays <br />. Statement stuffers for use by water providers/metro districts throughout the <br />County <br />. Public Service Ads <br />Action Items: <br />. Above items will be designed by in-house graphic designer <br />. This effort will be begun after January 24th, and prioritized. With turn-around <br />time short in order to meet the requirements of the duplication house, the <br />packaging will be prioritized first. Fortunately, much of the art works for this <br />effort already exists, and will only need to be refonnatted. The posters and <br />other displays will be derived from the same artwork, and must meet printer's <br />deadlines. PSAs are largely text, and can be created after the other two <br />deadlines are prioritized. All work will be completed in time for distribution in <br />support of the DVD distribution. The statement stuffers have already been <br />discussed amongst the water providers. Notices will begin appearing to alert <br />customers of the pending DVD distribution as soon as the CWCB approval is <br />received (on or around January 24th). <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />'-- <br /> <br />6. Online Communications <br />. Douglas County will create a Xeriscape Landing Page with links to Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board, Colorado Foundation for Water Education, <br />municipal, library, school district, water providers, HOA and other community- <br />based websites <br />.
