~\\~Q~ffi.~'t:" 1(0\1

Silver Heights Water & Sanitation District
1027 Harvey Street
Castle Rock, CO 80104
303-660-9280

The districts water supply facilities consist of two wells and
two water storage tanks the Arapahoe well is the primary
well used and the Denver well is used only as a standby.
The water is pumped into a 100,000 gallon holding tank
where disinfection is done with bleach. A booster pump
station with 2 - 150 GPM pumps is used to pump water
into the distribution system and into a 300,000 gallon
buried tank on a hillside. Electronic transducers
automatically control the level of water in the tanks. The
district has had pump maintenance problems for years with
the Arapahoe well pumping small amounts of sand. The
pump/motor usually will last only about three years
(90,000,000 gallons pumped). The cost of this will be
about $30,000 every time the pump/motor is replaced.
