In the 1997 Construction Fund bill, the General Assembly approved the grant of <br />up to $2.0 million recommended by the CWCB on the condition that the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife (CDOW) submit a detailed proposal for the facility to include cost <br />sharing arrangements for capital and operating costs and an opportunity to review all <br />appraisals for the property to be acquired for the NASF <br /> <br />CWCB and CDOW staff members have met twice in the last month and -a- half to <br />discuss the acquisition of the property, the development of a Comprehensive Planning <br />Description, associated feasibility work for the facility and a memorandum of <br />understanding (MOD) for the project between the two agencies. An option contract on the <br />proposed site near Alamosa has been submitted by CDOW to the owner of the property. <br /> <br />Feasibility Study and Comprehensive Planning Description <br /> <br />CD OW staff is in the process of preparing a response on several feasibility questions <br />submitted by CWCB staff. This response, together with reports previously done for <br />CDOW, will constitute the feasibility study for the project. CDOW is also preparing a <br />comprehensive planning description which should help establish the role of the NASF <br />within the larger process of: <br />
