Since the funding for the
Program is limited, we are asking that recipients of Small Dam Site monies provide at least 50
percent matching funds for the proposed studies.

It is our understanding that your consultant has completed a safety evaluation of DeWeese Dam and
is now conducting certain hydrologic analyses prior to the preparation of a feasibility study for the
repair and rehabilitation of the dam and that the feasibility study would be done in accordance with
the CWCB Construction Fund Guidelines.

As I mentioned in our telephone conversation, we would prefer to provide Small Dam Site funds
for studies which are not yet underway. I would therefore like to suggest that the $5,000.00 which
we have earmarked for the DeWeese Dam rehabilitation project be applied to the feasibility study.
A purchase order in the amount of $5,000.00 will be forwarded to you upon receipt of an
acceptable plan of study for the feasibility study from your engineering consultant.

Please call me if you have any questions regarding the Construction Fund program or the
preparation of the feasibility study. We look forward to working with you in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

~.- fi? ~
r--.J ...?<<~~?---_..

William E.
