The
Lower South Platte Water Conservancy District (Enterprise) operates groundwater recharge
facilities to provide augmentation water for District well owners. Additional recharge and
augmentation is needed prior to the summer 2001 irrigation season to avoid possible curtailment
of junior wells by the State Engineer. The average annual volume diverted is 1,500 acre-feet.
The Lower South Platte Water Conservancy District was formed in accordance with the Water
Conservation Act of Colorado. Jon Altenhofen, P,E., of the NCWCD has completed a final draft
feasibility study. Proposed funding for the project consists of a CWCS Small Project Loan for
$100,000, and in-kind services and supplies from NCWCD and SPLRG valued at $20,000.

Location Map
on following page.

5
