U.S. Forest Semce,property immediately
adjacent to, and west of, the existing water treatment plant property. Two, OIr
tions of building a dam across the valley to create a reservoir were consider-
ed, one using imported materials which would result in a storage capacity of
approximately 30 acre/feet, and the other using on-site materials resulting in a
. capacity of approximately 45 acre/feet.

A'raw water pump station would divert water from the River at the same 10-
cation as the existing inifltration gallery divertS water to the existing plant,
and would convey' it to the above reservoir site via a common fill and draw
line when the River is running, and which would also be used to return stored
water from the reservoir to the plant during times of drought when the River
has run dry. .

The upgrade of the water treatment plant would be identical to that in Alter-
nate "A"., whereby a new micro-fIltration unit of the same capacity as the ex-
isting unit will be placed adjacent to the existing unit .

ALTERNATE "D" -RESERVOIRS WITIllN LOCAL SWALES AND UP-
GRADE OF 1HE EXISTING WATER TREATMENT PLAm

D-l Lot 5-11th Filing

lbis site is on private property on which a 20 acre/foot reservoir had at one
. time been proposed. This site is not being prioritized by the District at this
time because of the large negative impact it would have on this property.

D-2-Crow Lane Reservoirs'

As indicated in the Planning Document, there were two reservoir sites identi-
fied in the natural swale between Crow Lane and Highway 36, both on private
property. A raw water pump station would be required at the existing treat-
ment plant site, as well as a common fill and draw line, to deliver water to the
reservoir sites when the River is running, and to return stored water to the
plant when the River is dry, similar in concept to the earlier described Maure
13
