<br />SUMMARY OF PROPOSED PROJECT <br />DEWEESE DAM REHABILITATION <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Project Sponsor: DeWeese-Dye Ditch and Reservoir Company <br /> <br />Type of Project: Agricultural and rural water supply - rehabilitation of existing dam <br />crest <br /> <br />Location: On Grape Creek about five miles north of Westcliffe in Custer County (see <br />attached map). Main irrigation service area is south of Canon City in Fremont County. <br /> <br />Date of Application: August 28, 1997 <br /> <br />Feasibility Study: Prepared by GEl Consultants, Inc., April 1997 <br /> <br />Project Description: DeWeese Dam is a concrete masonry structure which exhibits <br />considerable cracking and spalling in the top 12 feet of the dam crest. The project <br />involves the replacement of the entire upper 12 feet of the dam, The new crest section <br />will include reinforcing bar anchors drilled and grouted into the original dam and a <br />drainage/seepage control system. The project does not involve any enlargement of <br />DeWeese Reservoir which has a capacity of 4,000 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Estimated Reservoir Yield: 2,400 acre-feet per year, average annual basis, 1979-1995 <br /> <br />. Estimated Cost: $839,000 <br /> <br />Loan ReQuested: $734,000 (approximately 90 % of total capital cost) <br /> <br />DeWeese Dam <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />
