Box P <br /> <br />Akron, CO 80720 <br /> <br />Annette Bowin, Town Manager <br /> <br />970-345-2624 Fax Number: 970-345-2617 <br /> <br />The Town of Akron is a municipality incorporated in 1882 <br />. and is acting by and through its water enterprise fund that <br />was formed pursuant to Resolution No. 457 adopted by the <br />Town's Council on December 2,2002, incorporated herein <br />by reference <br /> <br />Section 2 - Project Description <br /> <br />Description of PROJECT: The Town of Akron, located in Washington County, provides <br />domestic water to approximately 1,700 residents with approximately residential and <br />commercial 880 taps. Ten wells feed into a 1.5 million gallon above ground storage <br />tank, constructed in 1996, for treatment and distribution. All of the Town's wells are <br />low-producing and has difficulty keeping up with demand during the summer months. <br />Two new wells with transmission lines will be added to the Town's water system, <br />hereinafter referred to as the PROJECT. The first well, the existing Hoyer Well drilled in <br />2000, will be connected to the Town's system with 8300 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe. <br />The total cost for this part of the PROJECT is $241,410. The second well, the <br />Thomas/Kusel Well, will be drilled and connected to the systems with 2700 feet of 12- <br />inch ductile iron pipe. The total cost of this part of the PROJECT is $131 ,389. Bothwells <br />will have a maximum pumping rate of 500 gpm and a maximum annual withdrawal of <br />265 acre-feet. In addition, a component of the PROJECT will include the installation of a <br />backup emergency generator at one of the existing wells close to Town, ata cost of <br />$16,000. The estimated total cost of the PROJECT is $390,000. <br /> <br />Description of Feasibility Study: The CWCB has reviewed a feasibility study <br />report on the PROJECT entitled "feasibility of Construction of the Hoyer and <br />Thomas/Kusel Wells and Pipeline" dated August 2002, compiled by Charles F. <br />Leaf, of the Platte River Hydrologic Research Center, which is incorporated herein <br />by reference, and, based upon the feasibility report, the CWCB determined the <br />PROJECT to be technically and financially feasible. <br /> <br />SECTION 3 -CWCB's AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Small Proiect Loan: This loan is made pursuant to the provISions of Sections <br />37-60-119 and 37-60-120, C.R.S., which authorizes the CWCB to loan money for <br />water projects for the benefit of the people of the State, provided that the borrower <br />assures repayment of that money. <br /> <br />Section 37-60-122(1)(b) C.R.S., authorizes the CWCB to make loans of up to <br /> <br />Contact: <br />Phone Number: <br />Type of Entity: <br /> <br />Appendix 1 to Loan Contract C15011 0 <br />
