I

I

GROUND WATER MANAGEMENT SUBDISTRICT OF
CENTRAL COLORADO WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT
Greeley. Colorado
Notes to Financial Statements
December 31. 2001

I

I

Note 2 - Cash and Investments (Continued)

I

The District had invested $569,056 in the Colorado Government Liquid
Asset Trust (COLOTRUST), an investment vehicle established for local
government entities in Colorado to pool surplus funds. COLOTRUST
operates similarly to a money market fund and each share is equal in
value to $1.00. Investments in COLOTRUST consist of U.S. Treasury
bills, notes and note strips and repurchase agreements collateralized
by U.S. Treasury securities. A designated custodial bank provides
safekeeping and depository services to COLOTRUST in connection with
the direct investment and withdrawal functions of COLOTRUST.
Substantially all securities owned by COLOTRUST are held by the
Federal Reserve Bank in the account maintained for the custodial
bank. The custodian's internal records identify the investments
owned by COLOTRUST.

I

I

I

I

Note 3 - General Fixed Assets

A summary of changes in General Fixed Assets follows:

I

Balance
12/31/00 Additions
Land 22,507
Office Building 204,959
Easements and
Right-of-way 12,644
Wells, Ditch Im-
provement, and
Recharge Projects 351,527
Equipment 159,732 49,716
Stock in Irriga-
tion and Reser-
voir Companies 1,749,000 200,500
Water projects/
Construction 2.723.905 374.110
Totals 5.224.274 624.326

Deletions

Balance
12/31/01

I

22,507
204,959

12,644

I

351,527
209,448

I

1,949,500

I

3.098.015
5.848.600

I

Note 4'- Related Party Transactions

I

The Subdistrict is directly associated with the Central Colorado
Water Conservancy District.
