The Peterson drop structure is undercut at its downstream end and the District needs
to rehabilitate it prior to the 2001 irrigation season. The average annual volume diverted is
60,000 acre-feet. The Julesburg Irrigation District is a Colorado Irrigation District formed in
accordance with CRS 37-41-101. Glenn Newlon, P.E. of the Natural Resources Conservation
Service has completed a Preliminary Engineering Report and a cost estimate. John Van Sciver,
P.E., CWCB staff, has completed a final draft feasibility study with help from the District and the
NRCS. Proposed funding for the project consists of a CWCB Small Project Loan for $100,000,
an $11,000 in-kind grant from the NRCS, and $34,000 from the District.

Location Map

7
