19

. I ,...- -
'0 - r '
It f !

This is a depiction of the section from Campbel's to Phil's Auto before the
flood of 1993. In this flood there was about six acres that were lost on the
right bank. These acres are colored light green.

The ground that was lost was the home of several large cottonwood
trees. These trees probably took root in 1912.

The Area that eroded away in the flood of 1993 took almost the same
path as the 1912 flood. The difference was in 1912 the river continued
thought the marsh land colored dark green. The river would have done the
same 1993, but a levee with school busses held the advancing river off.
.. '- ".

In the event of another flood; there is danger of the river recapturing the
marshland. The new channel would re-enter the river right in the middle of
Phil's Auto. Something worth looking at.
