"'"' .~ .~"x. . .. .. ,......... . <br /> <br />This is the section of river found between The farmers ditch, and the black <br />bridge, known as Heddle's Bridge. <br /> <br />This section of the river is known for it's stability. This stability is due to <br />down-cutting, and the large boulders in the channel that lessen the river <br />velocity and shear strength. The boulders were added to the river to <br />secure the Heddles bridge, and a railroad bridge found upstream. Other <br />boulders were placed in the river for the farmers ditch diversion. <br /> <br />The boulders create a step-pool environment or series of rapids and <br />then pools. The sections between the boulders create pools. The <br />sections of boulders are colored red. The sections of pools are colored <br />blue. <br />
