~ -..,

1994 Master Plan Update
Town of Elizabeth

The two wells are capable of producing 20 to 30 gpm additional flow.
However, this is only possible for short periods of time due to excessive
drawdown of the groundwateT table and excessive intTusion of sand into the
wells.

Using this criteria, the number of SFEs that the existing water system can
SUPPOTt is shown in Table 4, below.

TABLE 4
EXISTING WATER SYSTEM SERVICE LIMITS

CRITERIA LIMIT
Supply 360 SFE
Storage 610 SFE

Currently, the Town's water system serves 484 SFEs (Table 1). As shown in
Table 4, the water system cannot provide service to the existing customers to
the level established by the supply criteria during peak demand periods. This
became apparent during the summer of 1994 when the reservoirs went nearly
dTY during a high demand period of approximately one week and water
Testrictions were imposed. If eitheT of the wells had gone out of service, or if
there had been a fire, the wateT system would not have been able to meet the
demands.

Meurer & Associates
October 5, 1994
Page 7
