The DVD will be distributed to 7R ROO single family residences in
Douglas County, and 19,100 single family residences in Arapahoe County. These figures
include 8,000 rural residences reliant upon wells.

While conservation has always been a primary focus of our Authority, last fall the
DCWRA identified new initiatives to enhance its communication efforts with regard to
conservation communications and education. Examples of these efforts include
assembling a display booth highlighting recent water conservation success stories in our
region of the State, such as water conservation plans, tiered rate pricing structures, reuse
efforts, alternative water wise landscaping options, and the application of new
technologies in irrigation controllers. This booth was displayed at the 31 5t annual
Colorado Water Workshop at Western State College in Gunnison. It can be reused at
other water events. We hosted the CWCB/Great Western regional water conservation
workshop you attended in May at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock.
Russell George shared his thoughts with us as keynote speaker at our annual banquet.
Denver Museum of Nature and Science's Bob Reynolds shared his thoughts with us at
our last regular monthly meeting.

While water providers, municipalities, and homeowners associations can address their
landscaping situations, DCWRA also desires to raise awareness and educate individual
homeowners as to steps each individual can take to participate in water conservation
efforts in the region. We believe the distribution of the Xeriscape DVD will help us
pursue that goal.

HM) Third StrcL'l. Castle R(d.. Colorado RO I 04 . nm) (,6(}-740(). FAX (103) 6HR-1293
