Utah <br />headquarters. Real-time weather information is acquired using the internet, allowing <br />decisions to be made regarding where and when to seed. Information acquired online <br />includes hourly weather repons, radiosonde (weather balloon) observations, surface and <br />upper-air charts (both current and forecast), weather radar and satellite images, and <br />forecast from the National Weather Service. as well as numerous other products. The <br />project meteorologist in charge of the operations utilizes this information to make <br />informed cloud seeding decisions. as well as documenting weather infomlation and <br />seeding activities for future reference. Figures 2.3-2.5 show examples of weather <br />information acquired online. which was utilized to make seeding decisions, during the <br />2003-2004 season. <br /> <br />7 <br />
