Chief, Flood Control Section Colorado Water Conservation Board 1313 Sherman St., Room 721 Denver, CO 80203 SUBJECT: Final Report for Storage Use Patterns Investigation for Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Study Dear Mr. Lang: Brown and Caldwell is pleased to submit the Final Report for the Storage Use Patterns Investigation for Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Study. The principal findings from this investigation indicate that those entities expressing interest in acquiring and utilizing reallocated storage space in Chatfield Reservoir have sufficient available water rights to allow these entities to make efficient use of at least 20,600 acre-feet of reallocated Chatfield Reservoir storage. If the new HEC-S runs by the Omaha District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for investigating Chatfield Reservoir, Bear Creek Reservoir and Cherty Creek Reservoir System operations indicate potential for reallocating more than 20,600 acre-feet of storage in Chatfield Reservoir, the analysis described in this report for determining the effects of reallocating Chatfield Reservoir storage could be repeated for a larger reallocated storage pool. Brown and Caldwell believes that reallocation of Chatfield Reservoir storage is an important project for resolving some of the Denver Metro area water supply problems.
