.

conducting both plant and invertebrate bioassay analysis to determine
metals uptake and toxicity. In addition, a photo-documentation effort was
completed in order to watch the progression of recovery after the
remediation effort was in place.

Summitville Snow Water Equivalent Sampling: NRM conducted a
snow water equivalent evaluation for the Summitville Superfund Site, in
conjunction with Rocky Mountain Consultants. Project activities include
the use of a Federal Snow Core Sampler, recording data in field
notebooks, photo-documentation, and a data report. The data was used to
determine run-off volume to a detention! treatment facility located at the
mine site.

ASARCO Deep Well Monitoring: For ASARCO, the NRM students were
held responsible for the sampling of groundwater and for the continued
monitoring of water quality from each of the wells. This project is ongoing.

.

Bureau of Reclamation/Environmental Protection Agency Analysis of
Groundwater Movement through the use of Dye Trace analysis. A
proposed remedy design for the contaminated surface water within the
area, to induce communication to the groundwater where it is then
channeled to an existing treatment plant. In order to determine whether
this type of hydrologic communication truly exists, a dye trace study was
implemented. The students were responsible for the documentation of
field procedures, quality assurance/quality control procedures, and health
and safety procedures. They were then responsible for sample collection,
documentation, tracking, and shipping.

Climax Molybdenum Mine - Jones Pit Reclamation: For the Climax
Mine, the NRM students surveyed and designed a land rehabilitation
project for a disturbed pit mine site. Their plan was accepted by the Mine
and is currently being implemented.

Lake Fork Watershed Working Group Coordination: For the BLM,
BOR, USFWS, USFS, Lake County and the land owners within the
Watershed, the NRM is acting as a coordinating entity in order to convey
existing information to be used for remediation effort design. The CMC
NRM provides the oversight coordination activities necessary to
communicate project activities within and amongst the landowners and
trustees. The students are responsible for the design and implementation
of a watershed scale investigative study to determine 6the existing and
historic contaminant loading areas (both point and non point sources).

.

Evans Gulch Feasibility Study: There are several facets to this project.
A description of each is as follows:
