<br />. ... .'. <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board has filed a letter of intent in the <br />Colorado Water Cowt to file for instream flows on 20 segments of rivers in <br />Water Division 4. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Filings on Arthracite Cree~ Coal Cree~ Muddy Creek of the Gunnison, <br />Muddy Creek of the North Fode, the North Fork of the Smith Fork, the <br />South Fork of the Smith Fork and Williams Creek are of most interest <br />locally. <br /> <br />There are already 1450 streams with a total of 8549 miles of steams in <br />Colorado with instream flow right decrees. Most of these are in place at the <br />recommendation ofa government agency.like the DOW or the State Parks. <br />Few people even are aware of this process. Little notice has been given to <br />the public. <br /> <br />Tbese filing have potential effect on landownen in the specific drainages <br />and could have 10DI term effects 08 othen. <br />Because of that I feel these filings should be withdrawn pending further <br />evaluation of their necessity and pwpose. Therefore, I would request your <br />signature on this letter to be presented at the meeting of the Colorado Water . <br />Conservation Board in Glenwood Springs on March 22, 2005.
