Facilitator, Ma Lou Smith, A ua En ineerin . <br /> <br /> <br />Create a process to inform.. .and <br />educate the public on the IBeC's <br />activities and progress of the <br />interbasin compact negotiations <br /> <br />Communicate to the general <br />public about the vision and the <br />mechanics of the HB1177 <br />process, and its relevance to <br />them <br /> <br />Inform the public, especially the <br />"water interested" public, about <br />IBCC and basin roundtable <br />meetings, committee <br />opportunities, educational <br />programs <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION <br /> <br />Encourage participation of ALL <br />the public, not just special <br />interest groups. Increase <br />participation by younger people <br />and those not necessarily <br />represented by the roundtables, <br />including those not part of any <br />traditional water related <br />or anization <br /> <br />Create a process to... involve <br />the public (in) the IBCC's <br />activities and progress of the <br />interbasin compact negotiations <br /> <br />Create a mechanism by which <br />public input and feedback can <br />be relayed to the I BCC and <br />compact negotiators. <br /> <br />1. Work through (do not duplicate work of) <br />groups who already are doing water <br />education throughout the state including, but <br />not limited to: <br />Colorado Foundation for Water Education <br />Colorado Water Congress <br />Water conservancy, conservation districts <br />Colorado Watershed Assembly <br />Conservation/Environmental organizations <br />Agricultural organizations <br />Universities <br />Fed/State/Local a encies <br /> <br />Work on this will be forthcoming-"second stage"-after <br />we have made substantial progress on the public <br />education aspects of our work as shown above. <br /> <br />
