Promote and Support Water Resource Development/Management to Ensure <br /> <br />Future Water Needs are Met Consistent with the Following Board Mission <br /> <br />Statements: <br /> <br />o Following the lead oflocal water suppliers, the state will monitor long- <br />term water needs, provide technical and fmancial assistance to put the <br />necessary plans, projects and programs in place to meet those needs, and <br />foster cooperation to avoid being forced to make trade-offs that would <br />otherwise harm Colorado's environment, lifestyle, culture, and economy <br />(Mission Statement of the Board regarding the 80 percent solution for <br />meeting 2030 municipal and industrial water demands). <br />o Foster cooperation among water suppliers and citizens in every water <br />basin to examine and implement options to fill the gap between ongoing <br />water planning and future water needs (Mission Statement of the Board <br />regarding the 20 percent municipal and industrial gap, agricultural <br />shortages and environmental and recreational enhancements). <br /> <br />. Correlating the Activities of Mankind with the Preservation and Improvement of <br /> <br />the Environment <br /> <br />.
