Based
on comments from our staff and constituents, this has been a productive process. We
support and congratulate you on convening the Roundtable.

In preparing a new Management Plan, your staff has evaluated streams segments for
eligibility for Wild and Scenic River designation. We understand that you have placed
approximately 42 streams on the eligibility list. We further understand that you now
intend to undertake a process to determine the "suitability" of those eligible streams for
Wild and Scenic River designation.

At the Roundtable meeting August 2, 2006, you briefly mentioned a process you plan to
follow in conducting the suitability analysis. The purpose of this letter is to request that
you provide a written description of the suitability analysis process so that we and our
constituents can fully understand and participate in that process.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter, and we look forward to working with
you and your staff. If you have any questions please contact Ann McCoy in Senator
Allard's office at 970-375-6311, Ann Brown in Senator Salazar's office at 970-259-1710,
or John Whitney in Congressman Salazar's office at 970-375-3264.

Sincerely,

b~

eseniative
